Pinta is an image editor based on Paint.Net that serves as a free and open source alternative to Gimp.
Its interface is similar to that of Paint.net, with a toolbar on the left and windows dealing with layers and history on the right. The center is where you'll open the image that you want to edit.
The editing tools available are similar to those that are included in other programs of this kind: pencils, brushes, color dropper, paint bucket, lines, figures, ink pad, eraser, etc.
Some of the other features included are the effects typically found in editing programs: Gaussian blur, brightness, charcoal, oil paint, etc.
Using these tools, Pinta has become a good alternative to Gimp and is especially useful for those who are accustomed to programs like Photoshop or Paint.net.
